BasisAs of 1 January 2022, Regulation (EU) 2018/848 will apply throughout the European Union as the new legal regulation for organic farming, replacing Regulation (EC) No 834/2007.
For non-member states of the EU (so-called "third countries"), a three-year transition period applies, so that the new regulation will only become binding from 1 January 2025.
