Organic Regulation in Mexico

Organic Regulation in Mexico

The Organic Products Law (LPO) is the national regulatory framework that ensures the responsible production, certification, and commercialization of organic foods and products in Mexico. Together with its Regulation and the Guidelines for Organic Operation (LOOAA), it forms part of the Mexican Organic Program, supervised by SENASICA (National Service for Agrifood Health, Safety, and Quality).

Why is it important?

• All organic products produced in Mexico or imported into the country for sale must be certified in accordance with the LPO.
• Products intended for the final consumer must carry a label that complies with the National Seal Regulation (DN), guaranteeing transparency and trust in the market.
Complying with Mexican regulations means offering authentic, safe organic products with guaranteed traceability.
